Captain Troy's Monthly Fishing Reports Keeps You up to Date on What's Biting.

December 2015 - January 2016 Fishing Report

December fishing in mosquito lagoon has been hard. The water is very dirty. Windy days have been best using cut bait like mullet or pin fish. Windy days help move Scent down wind. Fish islands or little drops off where there is flow and also look for seagulls they have been working shrimp pods where the reds are schooling. You will see tailing reds some time. You can catch reds on jerk baits and cut bait too. On the pods too.
Indian river water has been dirty too. Cut baiting is the best way. Windy days are best 15 knots or better. I have found
big schools of black drum on calm days. Crabs or gulp jigs work best.

January probably will be the same. Hope for cold weather it May clean up water for sight Fishing on sunny days. Winter days are usually crispy and sunny after a front. During the front fish the holes. Trout and small reds will school. Use gulp jigs.
